Siglent Technologies has introduced a range of display-less oscilloscope, with four or eight channels and bandwidths of 2 or 1GHs, or 500MHz. Sampling is at 5Gsample/s on each channel on all models, and 16 digital channels can be enables as a option. Multiview Display

Called SDS6000L, they are based on the display-inclusive SDS6000A series, and by adding a separate ‘synchronisation distributor’ unit, multiple scopes can be connected together for up to 64 synchronised analogue channels.
“If you connect an external monitor and a mouse, the oscilloscopes can also be used stand-alone,” according to the company. “The web server from other Siglent devices is also available, so that the devices can be controlled remotely without external software.”
User programming is through SCPI commands, with control through USB or 1000BaseT Ethernet.
SFDR above 45dBc, channel-to-channel isolation up to 70dB and DC amplifier accuracy of ±1.5% is claimed for the input channels, and the smallest vertical range is 500µV.
Resolutions of 12bit and 16bit are available by digitally trading sample rate for more amplitude detail. “For detailed analysis, acquired signals can be zoomed in both the X and Y directions,” said Siglent.
Memory is 500Mpoint (500Mbyte) shared across the channels in the four channel versions, and the eight channel versions are treated as two banks of four channels for memory, with each bank getting its own 500Mpoint.
Waveform capture is up to 750kwaveform/s in sequence mode. “In this way, the blind time can be kept short and rarely occurring signals can be found more quickly,” the company said. “The digital trigger and the many different trigger types help to isolate errors – the zone trigger offers a particularly large amount of flexibility.”
Four math channels and a formula editor are available for complex calculations, and a configurable mask test is available as standard for pass-fail measurements – for production test, for example.
Built-in to all models are Bode plot and serial bus decoders for I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN), then options include: power analysis (plus de-skew fixture), eye diagram, jitter analysis, Manchester decode, then trigger and decode for I2S, MIL-STD-1553B, FlexRay, CAN FD and SENT.
A external USB-connected (but isolated) 25MHz function generator (125Msamplea/s, 16kpoint memory) is another option.
Scope footprint is 395mm wide x 431mm deep, including rear connectors, and height is 43mm for four channel types and 86mm for eight channels – this is a half-unit wide for rack-mounting, so these are 1HU or 2HU instruments.
