Architect/designer for residential work in Chelsea or Sag Harbor - New York, NY, US | Jobs | Archinect

We're looking to add an architect/designer to our team to assist with our ongoing residential design and construction projects.

The focus of this position is both custom-designed, single-family homes and affordable, modular houses. You will be part of an expert team, and will help develop extraordinary projects and see them built with care and attention. With our affordable, quick-build, work, you will participate in the launch of a new prototype for affordable living.

A minimum of 2 years of work experience in United States, a B. Arch. and/or M. Arch. or -- in case of a lack of a degree in architecture-- longer pertinent experience are required. Your portfolio must include Construction Documentation of at least one single-family house (interior renovations or design of large structures are not pertinent to this position). If you have seen a few projects through construction, we welcome that experience. The primary software for this work is Autocad.

We’re a small, award-winning, architecture studio located in Chelsea and Sag Harbor, NY. We design custom houses, some very well-budgeted and some very affordable; we’ve created our own line of prefab buildings from recycled shipping containers (nominated as ‘building of the year’ by World Architects); and have created village vision plans, park designs, and public projects. Our buildings have received best-of-year, and AIA awards, and have been widely published (ex., Arc House, Amagansett Modular, House in the Lanes, Bard Media Lab).

Our studio environment is friendly and nurturing, and our work aims to be rigorous and exploratory.

We have offices in Chelsea, Manhattan and Sag Harbor. Remote work with occasional office participation in either location is possible (though you must be based in New York).

Looking forward to seeing your portfolio.
